A female C-suit leader, with Chinese origin, working on the core business in an engineering company, equipped with double French-Chinese cultures, this is the unique profile of Ms. Ling Fang, Managing Director for China and East Asia cluster at Alstom.
As an individual employee, she was one of the first Chinese in the head office when she joined Alstom 22 years ago in France; as a senior executive, she has been taking actions transforming Alstom to be a more diverse workplace in the past two decades (today 30% employees and 50% senior management are women in China).

About the Speaker:
Ling Fang is Managing Director for China and East Asia since August 2015. Prior to this, she was Managing Director for China for five years from 2010 to 2015. In this role, she achieved a stable growth of the company’s business in China via localization, exploration of new markets such as services and tramways, despite the increasingly intense competitions from Chinese domestic players.
Ling joined the Alstom Group in Paris, France in 1995 as Auditor of Corporate Internal Audit Department. After that she has taken many leadership positions in the company, including Finance Director for China, Vice-President Finance for Asia Pacific Region, and Vice-President Strategy and Market Development for Asia Pacific Region before she started her position as Managing Director for China.
Ling has obtained Master Degree of International and European Economic Law at the University of Toulouse, and Master Degree of Finance and Business Administration at ESCP in Paris.
