This seminar will encompass the practical considerations of hiring employees in Indonesia from an HR and legal perspective.


Emmanuel Costenoble (ProCapita Indonesia) will present an overview on the Indonesian job market, its key figures, challenges and potential. How the combination of the proper market knowledge and the appropriate strategy allow corporate to recruit and retain the best of breeds individual, who are in Indonesia, more than anywhere else, their true asset.


Lucas Mascarade (DS Avocats) will present the main regulations' content pursuant to employment relationship in Indonesia. Key impacts of such policies and practical aspects will be emphasized as will be provided information relating to the drafting of an employment agreement; employer's obligations; recruitment of foreign employees; termination of employment and compliance strategies in view of a litigation in Indonesia.

About the Speakers:

  • Emmanuel Costenoble, Associate Director, ProCapita Indonesia

Emmanuel, a French National, has been permanently based in Jakarta since 2013. He has a rich history with Indonesia that dates back over 15 years and during this time he has developed a strong attachment to the country's people & culture. He commenced his career as an Executive Search Consultant in the 1990's when he worked for leading European recruitment firms in both London & Paris. In these roles he assisted blue-chip multinational organisations and start-up / growth stage companies with the hiring of critical senior-level and mid-level Professional Talent. Alongside Executive Search, Emmanuel has also spent over a decade working in the Food & Beverage / Hospitality industry. During this time he has been based in multiple ASEAN cities that include Singapore, Kuala Lumpur & Bali. Emmanuel has completed a significant range of executive search assignments and his expertise covers multiple key industry sectors including: Telecoms, Information Technology, Management Consulting, Pharmaceuticals and Food & Beverage / Hospitality.

Emmanuel earnt a Degree in Law from the University of Nice Sophia-Antipolis, France.

After experiences in Business France in Singapore and in a German Law Firm in Kuala Lumpur, he advises and represents both foreign investors in Indonesia and South East Asia as well as APAC investors in France (FDI and Corporate Law, International Business Law and Employment Law).
