Smart Systems Institute (SSI) of National University of Singapore answers to the needs for strong R&D in Smart Systems Institute as identified by government. It is cross disciplinary, bringing together researchers in engineering, computer science, physical science and social science under one roof.
SSI conducts high end smart systems research and will continue with translating the research output into market outcome. We excel in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality, Internet-Of-Things (IoT), Industrial Design, Big Data Analytics and Media Technologies such as computer vision and natural language processing.
The speaker, Kelvin Tan who is the Deputy Director of NUS Enterprise and Head of Business Development, Smart Systems Institute of NUS will share with you the innovation projects and how they collaborate with companies.

About the Speaker:
- Mr Kelvin Tan, Deputy Director of NUS Enterprise and Head of Business Development, Smart Systems Institute, NUS
Mr Kelvin Tan is the Deputy Director of NUS Enterprise and Head of Business Development, Interactive Digital Media Institute. Some the recent projects and programs which he was involved include Modern Aging program, Singapore Airlines hackathon and InnovFest unbound 2017.
Prior to this, he was Snr VP, New Media, at ServTouch Wywy and co-founded an interactive digital start-up with a China partner. He has held various management positions in leading IT/Telco companies: HP, M1, AT&T and also Telecom Authority of S’pore (former IDA).
He was People’s Association Talent Advisory Panelist for IT and has been active with the community programs like NDP, Chingay Parade and Senior Academy which encourages senior to pursue lifelong and active learning. In response to meeting the emerging needs amongst professionals to understand the challenges of aging in Singapore he works closely experts with interdisciplinary backgrounds to humanize technologies for the community.
