About the Speakers
Laurent Verrier - Founder & CEO - One9ninety & Narratrs
Laurent Verrier’s 25 years management experience spans across the media, internet & wireless industries.
He started his career in France in 1991 with the Havas Media Communication Group and was posted to Asia in 1998 to manage the APAC Development of Pearl & Dean Int'l, Asia’s largest Out of Home Media Network, later acquired by JC Decaux.
In 2000, Laurent joined the Asia founding team of UK-based first internet wave startup beenz.com to set up the Asia business with JV partners & investors PCCW, Softbank & Oracle. Both an online marketing & payment tool, beenz.com was sold to Carlson Marketing Group in 2002.
Laurent then co-founded Oneday Interactive, the mobile tech & marketing agency that brought Shazam to Asia and that he sold in 2004. Laurent’s combined old & new media experience was then put at the service of Viacom’s MTV Networks Asia where he took on the role of General Manager Digital Media in 2005, overseeing online & mobile businesses for MTV, Nickelodeon & VH1. In 2007, Laurent oversaw the digital media efforts of News Corp’s Fox Int'l and National Geographic Channels in Asia. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to start his second venture, One9ninety, in 2008. He has since grown the business across Asia, helping over 60 MNCs understand and market themselves on the social web.
In 2016, the company was listed on Nasdaq One North as part of The Marketing Group. 2016 also marks the start of Laurent’s 3rd venture, Narratrs, an influencer marketing platform powered by big data and Ai. With $2M initial funding, Narratrs automates the process of influencer discovery and activation across Australasia, South America and Europe.
A Master’s Graduate from Purdue University (1990) and holder of a Marketing degree from Ecole Superieure de Commerce de Paris (ESCP), Laurent Verrier is French, a Singapore Permanent Resident and the proud father of 3 boys.
Alexia Sichere and Maelle Pochat – Founders - TryandReview.com
After completing her MSc in Management at Neoma Business School and after a few years working in sales and marketing in the publishing industry, Alexia Sichere moved from France to Singapore in 2009.
At the end of 2010, when e-commerce was just starting in SEA, Alexia decided to launch her own e-commerce business, www.foxysales.com a flash sales and marketplace site dedicated to young mothers. Maelle Pochat also completed a MSc in Management at Neoma Business School and started her career in product management and marketing working during 5 years at Yves Rocher, leading international cosmetic brand. Maelle moved to Singapore in 2011, where she first met Alexia.
She then decided to invest in her e-commerce startup Foxysales.com and joined as managing partner. After 6 years of business, Foxysales was taken over by a local team of entrepreneurs and became ChooChooLove.com. In 2015, Maelle and Alexia decided to carry on with their fruitful collaboration and co-founded TryandReview.com, an online platform for genuine and non-paid consumer reviews in Asia.
They started this new tech venture as they believed in giving brands the confidence to put their consumer voices front and center in marketing content strategies. Indeed, Beauty & FMCG brands can now leverage on Try and Review to create authentic user-generated content such as reviews, photos or videos and amplify it on social media, digital ads or e-commerce platforms.
The startup is based in Singapore and scaling up quickly in South-East Asia. It currently covers Singapore, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and it counts Unilever, Brand’s Suntory, Kimberly-Clark, Beiersdorf and L’Oréal among their loyal clients.

Always up to date with all things digital and social related, Antoine uses his pragmatism alongside with his desire to translate clients business objectives into KPIs and actionable insights to eventually increase their sales and profitability.
