Join us for a half-day conference on Smart City latest trends:
Frugal Innovation, Innovation strategies, Smart mobility and Globalisation.

Singapore aims to be a Smart Nation. It seeks to harness technology and find ways to unlock new possibilities, overcome physical constraints, and ultimately enable people to live fulfilled and meaningful lives. A one of a kind in Asia and the world, Singapore is an attractive hub and has a lot to offer to its neighbours. Just like India, many countries will collaborate with Singapore to build the cities of tomorrow. Solutions will have to be able to adapt to places with different constraints and those known for their frugal innovation approach.

As a continuation to our Urban Innovations portfolio, the French Chamber’s Smart City Committee is organising a conference that will see French and international industry players come together to share their experiences, introduce their projects and explore ways they can enrich Singapore’s "Smart Nation" vision.

Guest Speaker

Navi Radjou, our guest speaker, will first elaborate on frugal innovation, a disruptive, collaborative and resource-oriented concept. Frugality is to be celebrated as it leads to simple, affordable, sustainable and quality solutions.

A Fellow at Cambridge Judge Business School, Navi has served on the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council on Design Innovation and contributes to the Harvard Business Review online. He won the 2013 Thinkers50 Innovation Award and spoke at TED Global 2014. He is the co-author of Jugaad Innovation and Frugal Innovation, two international best-sellers.

WISE INNOVATION: A JOURNEY TOWARD A SMART & FRUGAL SOCIETY
Singapore is well-positioned to become the world's first smart and frugal society as it builds an inclusive and sustainable social ecosystem in which each individual is empowered to maximize his/her own and others’ well-being and potential while creatively preserving resources for future generations.

Digital tools like 3D printing, peer-to-peer sharing platforms, and “circular” recycling models empower citizens to share, make, and reuse goods and services themselves and co-build thriving communities. In this engaging talk, Radjou will outline his bold vision of how societies worldwide--including France and Singapore--are reinventing themselves, by shifting from a narrow focus on economic growth to an emphasis on all-round human development. Against this backdrop, Radjou will discuss how Singapore can deepen its commitment to a "wise" approach to innovation that integrates technological advances with unique human capabilities (ingenuity, empathy, resilience) to co-create greater economic, social, and ecological value while minimizing use of scarce resources. In doing so, Singapore's bold socio-economic development paradigm would serve as a blueprint for the rest of the world.

First persons to register will get a free copy of Navi Radjou’s best seller - Frugal Innovation: How to do more with less
