CITYSTAR PRIVATE EQUITY ASIA PTE LTD, CITYSTAR CAPITAL ASIA PTE LTD
CityStar is a group of investment companies created in 2003 by Jean–Louis Charon, former Managing Director of Nexity, the French leader in real estate development. It currently manages investment funds and several stand–alone projects. It is supported by three specialised affiliates representing approximately €110 million of shareholders' equity.
SOBK SAS focuses on LBO operations for mid–size French companies. CityStar Property Investment, created in 2007, manages property investments in Europe. Finally, CityStar Private Equity Asia has been in charge of group activities in Asia since 2005 with five property investment funds in Cambodia representing around US$110 million of shareholders' equity.
By creating three investment funds in Cambodia as early as 2006–2007, CityStar shows its commitment and trust in the country stability, as well as in its potential for tourism and economic development.
On the Ream site near Sihanoukville, CityStar has been granted by the Cambodian government more than 300 hectares leased over 99 years, in the exceptional locations of Koh Takiev and Koh Russey islands. CityStar created in 2013 two investment funds to develop 25ha on the Koh Russey island in an Alila Villas Resort that is the first internationally branded luxury resort on the Cambodian Coast, opened end of 2018.
