KACIFIC BROADBAND SATELLITES
Kacific is a next-generation broadband satellite operator.
Kacific was created in 2013 to deliver fast internet access by satellite, empowering public services, businesses and consumers in remote and hard-to-reach communities. Its first satellite, Kacific-1, under construction at Boeing Space Systems inc and to be launched on a SpaceX Falcon-9 rocket mid 2019, will address the endemic lack of affordable connectivity from Nepal to French Polynesia. Kacific has a B2B business model selling bandwidth to direct customers such ISPs, telecom operators and satellite connectivity service providers that serve end-users in the countries under coverage. With broadband connections of up to 200 Mbps available even in the most isolated islands and rural provinces, Kacific is recognised by local governments as a major contributor towards the reduction of the digital divide, which is a pivotal objective of the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.
Kacific is a member of the Pacific Telecommunications Council (PTC), an affiliate member of the Asia-Pacific Telecommunity (APT) and was the recipient of the FCCS and Business France ICT Awards 2015 in the category of “Best Potential in Asia”.
