Key takeaways
- Supply Chain Resilience, Agility, and Sustainability Are Now Core Priorities
- Significant Shifts in SCM Job Roles and Skillsets
12 of the 38 job roles in Singapore's SCM ecosystem are moderately impacted by technological and environmental shifts. Key functions like planning, procurement, and logistics now demand new competencies such as big data analytics, carbon footprint management, and digital workflow design. - The SCM Jobs Transformation Map and Skills Plan Are Practical Tools for Employers
These frameworks provide a structured guide for identifying at-risk roles, mapping skill gaps, and accessing relevant training programmes. They also help organizations future-proof their workforce by aligning with national transformation agendas. - Upskilling and Reskilling Must Be Ongoing, Not One-Off Initiatives
Programmes such as the Career Conversion Programme (CCP), Job Redesign under PSG-JR, and Mid-Career Pathways Programme offer government support to help companies continuously upgrade employee skillsets and redesign roles for long-term employability. - Singapore’s Talent Ecosystem and Infrastructure Support Growth
With a strong base of universities offering supply chain specialisations, a digitally advanced logistics hub, and access to a skilled, globally oriented talent pool, Singapore is well-positioned to anchor SCM teams and innovation hubs.
