Event report
Past Event | Future Ports: Redesigning Infrastructure for the Net Zero Era

The Maritime & Offshore Committee recently organised a session, bringing together industry leaders to discuss how ports must evolve to meet decarbonisation objectives while maintaining operational performance.
Our sincere thanks to our speakers:
- Fabien Lecuona, Director, Azura Consulting
- Tang Wey Lin, Assistant Vice President, Ports Technology, PSA
Moderator: Lancine Dosso, Manager, ENGIE
The discussion highlighted a structural shift: energy is now the primary constraint for ports. As electrification accelerates and alternative fuels emerge, grid capacity, infrastructure planning, and financing models are becoming critical enablers.
Speakers explored how ports are transforming into integrated energy, carbon, and electrification hubs, requiring scalable electrical architecture and closer coordination between vessel-side and port-side innovations.
Digitalisation was identified as an essential control layer, enabling real-time optimisation of crane operations, energy loads, and carbon tracking. Operational efficiency and system integration are now central to achieving Net Zero ambitions.
Infrastructure readiness, regulatory frameworks, and coordinated planning across stakeholders were emphasised as decisive factors for large-scale deployment.
This event was supported by our Committee Partner IEC Telecom
