La Petite Ecole Singapore Named Finalist at the 2025 Palmes de l’EFE Awards
La Petite Ecole, a French international school in Singapore and part of the Odyssey Education Group, has been named a finalist at the prestigious Palmes de l’enseignement français à l’étranger (Palmes de l’EFE) 2025 awards. Chosen from 291 submissions across 181 French schools worldwide, this recognition underscores the school’s strong commitment to multilingual education and meaningful engagement with its host country.
Held under the high patronage of the President of the French Republic, the Palmes de l’EFE awards were created to honour innovation, dedication, and excellence within the French education network abroad. Initiated by French Senator Samantha Cazebonne, the awards seek to raise the visibility of outstanding initiatives that often remain within the confines of individual institutions.
At the ceremony on 13 March 2025 at the historic Sorbonne Amphitheatre in Paris, La Petite Ecole was named a finalist in the category of “Linguistic Promotion and/or Engagement with the Host Country.” This accolade celebrates the school’s pioneering trilingual co-teaching model, introduced at the preschool level, which immerses children daily in French, English, and Mandarin from the age of two.
While School Principal Fabrice Humann remained in Singapore to oversee daily operations, the school was represented at the awards by Odyssey Education Group’s General Manager Catherine Lespine and other senior members of the group.
From September 2025, La Petite Ecole will complete its five-year growth plan, offering continuous education up to CM2 (Grade 5). At the elementary level, students benefit from a balanced bilingual curriculum—13 hours in French and 12 in English each week—alongside four hours of Mandarin, including sessions delivered through co-teaching.
Since relocating to vibrant Holland Village in January 2024, La Petite Ecole continues to grow as a centre of academic excellence and intercultural learning. This recognition reinforces its position as a leading example of innovative and inclusive education in Southeast Asia.
