Julien Mialaret is an Operating Partner for Idinvest Partners (Eurazeo), a global investor in technology with offices in Paris, London, Berlin, NY, Singapore, Shanghai, Seoul. Idinvest is currently the largest venture capital firm in continental Europe and active throughout Asia. Idinvest manages approximately €3.3 bn in venture and growth capital €22 bn overall with additional activities in private debt and private equity. In 2018, Idinvest joined forces with Eurazeo to create a European private equity champion.
Julien deploys Smart City Fund I & II in Asean region in China which is focused on the digital convergence of smart city sectors: construction, property, mobility, new energy, industry 4.0. Smart City Fund I invested in Singapore and in China supporting local entrepreneurs. Smart City Fund II launched in January 2021 with a first closing at $97 m and is already supported by 10 corporate and institutional investors in Europe and Asia. These include Fortune 1000 companies from Europe (EDF, Total, Stellantis, RATP) and regional champions from Asean (Sansiri), The fund is expected to reach $240 m by the end of 2021 and will keep backing entrepreneurs in Asean and China.
Prior to joining Idinvest in 2011, Julien was based in China where he developed and acquired power projects for EDF Group. Julien holds degrees from La Sorbonne University, Beijing University, ESCP Europe Business School and the French School of Oriental Studies. He is a fluent Mandarin, English, French and Spanish speaker and has working capacity in Japanese.
