Melissa OWCEO, Singapore Tourism Board

Ms Melissa Ow assumed the appointment of Chief Executive of Singapore Tourism Board (STB) on 1 June 2023. She is responsible for the development of Singapore as a vibrant destination with a compelling portfolio of tourism products and services including a strong calendar of lifestyle and business events. As the development agency for tourism, she leads STB in partnering tourism stakeholders to build and grow resilient and competitive businesses that drive tourism’s contribution as a key economic sector for Singapore.
Before 2023, Melissa was the Executive Vice President at the Economic Development Board (EDB). She played a key role in transforming the organisation’s B2B sales and marketing model and drove the global promotion of Singapore’s business brand and EDB’s marketing and communications in key markets such as Europe, US, China and Japan. Through enhancing EDB’s customer engagement capabilities, she led her teams to attract new foreign investments into Singapore.
Prior to EDB, Melissa held several positions in STB with the last position as Deputy Chief Executive, where she led STB to put Singapore on the world map for hosting premier events and attracting major tourism investments. Melissa was also responsible for STB’s corporate functions such as legal, risk and compliance, finance, and human resources.
Melissa spent several years at the Ministry of Trade and Industry, where she had the opportunity to formulate and review government policies impacting the tourism sector.
She has also worked for companies such as British Airways and HSBC.
Melissa holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Economics from the University of Leicester, UK and a Master of Business Administration in International Management from the University of London.
For her contributions to nation and economy building, Melissa was a recipient of the Public Administration Service (Silver) award in 2015.
