Based in Singapore since 2014, Olivier Monange has been working for more than 35 years with Asia.
He opened the first French law firm in China in 1986 and was involved in the negotiation of first joint ventures contracts under Chinese law. From 1994 to 2000, responsible for China with DS in Beijing, he advised a lot of European companies in their strategy and operations in China and was involved in several arbitration cases. He was VP of the French Chamber of Commerce in China from 1996 to 2000. Since 2001, he was responsible for the international department of DS and contributed to the development of DS in Asia (opening of Singapore in 2004 and of the Indian and Indonesian desks) and of the Asian clientele (Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Indian). He was also French Trade Advisor between 2001 and 2013.
He has progressively become an expert in international arbitration in the foreign direct investments and international contracts fields in Asia. He is a member of the ICC Arbitration Commissions (Paris & Singapore) and ICC Institute of World Business Law, admitted on several arbitrators panels of major arbitral institutions in Asia (SIAC- Reserve List Singapore, HKIAC Hong Kong, SHIAC Shanghai, BAC Beijing, AIAC Kuala Lumpur, PIAC Ho Chi Minh City), a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb, London), a Fellow Member of the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators (SIArb).
He is a Registered Foreign Lawyer with the Singapore International Commercial Court (SICC).
He regularly acts as a counsel and more and more as an arbitrator in Asia related cases.
