Dr. Stephen Tay is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of the Built Environment and an Adjunct Researcher at the Solar Energy Research Institute of Singapore (SERIS). Prior to his current role, he obtained his PhD from Imperial College London under the National Research Foundation (Clean Energy) Overseas Scholarship, which was awarded to three individuals nationwide in that year. Dr. Tay was involved in consultancy roles for both the public and private sector in technical advisories, feasibility studies, glare analysis, and RECs adoption. In recognition of his contributions as a strong advocate for the solar PV industry, he was awarded the “Young Green Building Advocate Award” in 2019, which was jointly conferred by Singapore’s Building and Construction Authority (BCA) and the Singapore Green Building Council (SGBC). Subsequently, Dr. Tay contributed to teaching excellence and was awarded the NUS Annual Teaching Excellence Award for three consecutive years from AY19/20 to AY21/22.
