Sylvain BiardFrench Commercial Counsellor for Indonesia & Head of Department ASEAN - Industries & Cleantech at Business France

Holding a Master’s Degree in International Management from the Toulouse School of Management (2003), Sylvain is heading the French Trade & Investment Commission - Business France in Indonesia since September 2021.
Sylvain was previously driving the development and promotion of the V.I.E program at Business France from September 2017 onwards, with the aim of scaling this French public international mobility solution for post-graduates and young professionals.
Sylvain has also been posted at the French Trade & Investment Commission - Business France in India from August 2012 until August 2017, where he was in charge of the Tech & Services Department for South Asia and was additionally assigned as Commercial Counsellor in Mumbai from September 2015 onwards.
Prior to his posting in India, Sylvain fulfilled several assignments within the French Economic Commission in Hanoi and the French Trade Commission UBIFRANCE in Vietnam over the 8 years he spent in the country.
These experiences provide him with a deep knowledge and expertise in international trade and business development, coupled with a strong insight on South-East Asia and South Asia.
Married with 2 children, Sylvain is 43 years old.
